Bailak Mongush is a renowned Kyzyl-based drummer and percussionist. A graduate of Krasnoyarsk State Institute of Arts, Bailak is the artistic director of Medee Khaan, the first professional all-percussion ensemble in the history of the Republic of Tuva and also leads the well known folk-fusion group Khöömei Beat. She regularly performs with the Tuvan National Orchestra and teaches with the Tuvan Cultural Center. A dedicated educator, Bailak has taught percussion instruments including drum set, orchestral percussion, vibraphone and more at Kyzyl Arts College for the past six years.
