Christopher Marianetti, is a composer, filmmaker and educator from Albuquerque, New Mexico. Chris’ work is focused on using collaborative art-making to connect people across cultural and societal divides. Chris co-founded Found Sound Nation , a music collective and creative agency working at the intersection of music and social justice, and is an artistic director and founder of OneBeat , a music diplomacy initiative bringing together musicians, social entrepreneurs, and artistic innovators from around the world, now in its tenth year in partnership with the US State Department’s ECA. His work has been presented at TED, the Lucerne Festival, Big Ears, MATA Festival, Gaudeamus, and MASS MoCA, among others. With Found Sound Nation, Christopher has led creative projects and labs in South Africa, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Zimbabwe, Italy, and Switzerland, and served as a teaching artist with the Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall, running composition & production workshops with incarcerated youth in New York City. Chris has been awarded a MacDowell Colony Fellowship, the PopTech Social Innovation Fellows Award and the Albuquerque Academy Alumni Service Award.
