CRUZ is a composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, musical director and educator from Buenos Aires, Argentina. With an academic background in contemporary classical composition and electronic arts, he has developed a unique style that merges experimental sound design with songwriting and live performance combining digital, analog and acoustic instruments through a DIY approach. For the past 15 years he has collaborated in creative and technical roles in both recorded and live music with a diverse range of artists. These experiences led CRUZ to found CARDINAL SUR, a platform providing creative musical direction for live acts. He has released music as a solo artist and is currently part of the experimental Balinese Gamelan collective Club del Gamelan, the ambient trio Sudestada X and the duo LVROD :: CRUZ with Argentinian singer-songwriter LvRod. CRUZ has also spent a decade touring at home and abroad with genre-bending band Pommez Internacional, where he developed his shape-shifting exploratory approach to composition and musical performance. Since 2021, he has collaborated regularly with Argentinian composer-producer Juana Aguirre, and is currently working on developing new digital instruments through his Luthería Digital and Diseño de Live Set workshops at the experimental music hub Territorio.
