Hassen Mchaikhi is a Tunisian violinist and one of the few musicians of his generation specializing in the Gougay, a genre of Tunisian fiddle-playing that has been dwindling since the 1960s. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in music and musicology at the Higher Institute of Music in Tunis.
