Iskander Dridi is an adept performer on numerous traditional wind instruments, including ney, kawala, trumpet, and clarinet, and a deep scholar of traditional Tunisian and Arab music. His ensemble, Groupe Barzakh, seeks to combat what they observe as a deep seated Tunisian "regionalism" by incorporating influences across numerous ethnic and geographic borders, with the aim of impacting how Tunisians see one another. He has collaborated on educational projects with several well-known nonprofits, including Unesco and TEDx. In additional to Iskander's extensive touring and performance experience, he is also a prolific composer for film and television.
