Karim Bouras is an accomplished Algiers-based chaabi singer. He attended Algiers Conservatory initially as a percussionist, where he was awarded honors. Later he went on to compete in the popular national singing competition Chaâbi (2011) where he reached the semi-finals. Karim has performed in a number of national and international festivals, and his lyrics engage with topics about political change and artistic engagement on social media platforms. His musicianship brings the richness of Algerian folk traditions to OneBeat Sahara.
