Mayssa Jallad is a Beirut-based singer-songwriter and architectural researcher. Her work deals with the highly personal as well as the political, as with her upcoming first solo album Marjaa 1: The Battle of the Hotels, which explores the histories of urban battles which occurred during the Lebanese Civil War through a musical and architectural lens. She has performed with the indie band Safar and Lebanese producer Zeid Hamdan in the Middle East and throughout the world. In addition to her performing and recording work, Mayssa works as an urban researcher with RELIEF Centre (IGP, University College London).
