PARTNERS
Fête de la Musique (Make Music Day) was founded in 1982 in France as an annual celebration which encourages the public to play music outside in their neighborhoods or in public spaces and parks. Each year on June 21st, it is celebrated in 120 countries around the world. In 2015, the Make Music Alliance approached Found Sound Nation, about producing iterations of our our Street Studios in partnership with the annual festivities.
Street Studios are comprised of producers along with their mobile recording studios, which are set up in front of art galleries, stores, plazas, parks and other public spaces. Producers then invite passersby from the community to create spontaneous musical compositions. At the end of the day or soon after, each producer mixes down one or more tracks, using only the material recorded on-site, to share the sounds of their city with the world. We’ve produced over 40 Street Studio Cities studios from Bangalore to Los Angeles, Tel Aviv to the Bronx. Click below to learn about each

Street Studio Cities, organized by FSN alongside the Make Music Alliance and HARMAN, brought world-class DJs and producers around the globe onto the streets for Make Music Day (Fête de la Musique).
